Made in America since 1987, the original patented Tush-Cush® brand of orthopedic seat cushions are scientifically designed to relieve and prevent back pain, lower body, hip, sciatica, and other discomforts associated with sitting. Tush-Cush® brand is recommended by healthcare professionals worldwide.
Product Overview
The Compact Car-Cush® with original foam measures 13" wide by 14" deep and is one of the narrowest car cushion products available. It is ideal for all vehicle seats with a smaller flat surface seating area such as sports cars, SUVs (fits 11 1/2" wide seat easily), Electric Vehicles, and vehicle seats with raised seat sides, and great for buses, trains, and airplane seats. Lightweight but durable, Tush-Cush® products easily attach to your luggage and backpack for travel.
Product Features:
- Coccyx cut-out: This calibrated opening provides excellent seating comfort by suspending the tailbone in the air, which reduces the pressure on and within the lower body and spinal discs.
- Wedge-shaped design: features a 3" raised back tapering down to a 1" high front, and the wedge restores the spines natural lumbar curve. Physical therapists recommend having the hips higher than the knees to positively affect all-over posture.
- Foam: We only use top quality polyurethane foam in Original or Extra Firm as it does not degrade over time. We never use latex or memory foam in Tush-Cush® products.
- Removable Covers for Ease of Cleaning: Velour (microsuede) removable covers are 100% hand washable on cold, hang dry. Faux Leather covers are made of breathable vinyl and can easily be wiped clean.
- Built-in carry handle design: Tush-Cush® products are the perfect cushion to easily take along on your travels as Tush-Cush® can be easily carried along with your luggage!

How do I know which Tush-Cush® Cushion to buy?
If you can, measure your seat surface,
Using a measuring or ruler device, measure the flat seating surface that you will place the cushion on.
Depth is the measurement from the back of the seat to under your knees. Tush-Cush® products are designed to be shorter in depth than your seating surface.
Width is the flat surface, side to side. If you have upholstery that is raised on each side, only measure the flat seating surface in between the bolstered areas.
Even if your seat measurement is at 11" to 13", the Compact Car Cush ®is the right fit for your vehicle as it will sit in place and provide the support you need.
If you need a slightly wider cushion, consider Car Cush® with dimensions of 13" x 16".
Using Your Compact Car Cush®
Place the cushion on your seating surface, with the handle and cut-out side to the back. Sit back on the cushion to ensure that your tailbone is suspended over the cut-out area. The cushion is designed to end slightly short (depth) of the front of your seating surface to allow knee clearance under a steering wheel and to accommodate a wide variety of seating surfaces.

This is the perfect sized cushion because most new car seats have the main area to sit, but the two sides of the seat are usually raised higher. This fits snugly in the actual area your bottom hits. Purchased the "original" foam and not the firm, and it is very comfortable. Firm tends to cause upper hip pain for me. However, I only had it a week and I usually give cushions and pillows 2 to 4 weeks, since it needs to break in, but so far very good.
Fabulous product
I tried one of these cushions while at a PT appointment. It felt great to sit on as it alleviated the pain I had from my tailbone. My PT recommended I get one for my car. While I do think that the cushion causes my pelvis to be more properly aligned in my carseat, I am still getting used to the feel of it in my seat. It does settle the longer I sit in it but when I first get in my car I have to adjust it underneath me. I feel the space in the back is a bit too wide so I squash the too sides together to tighten up that space. That helps that issue but I kinda feel like I am floating above my seat in the car. Not terribly and, like I said, it does seem to flatten over the drive so it feels less so as the time progresses. However, it takes a bit of getting used to. The floating feeling is most noticeable when going around corners. I don't feel snuggled into/hugged by my seat like I normally do. For reference I have a 2013 Honda CRV.
I was looking for a cushion that would provide some support and fit on a theater seat. This cushon is comfortable and a perfect size.
These are great cushions and although I measured it did not work in my truck. I ordered direct from the company. Just know that if you need to return you have to pay the return postage and a 15% restocking fee. I think the restocking fee is absurd. Order from a company that does not cost you to return.
